On human psychology
Imagine you are travelling on two-wheeler or car and you need to cross manned level crossing (train) and let us say as you approach the railway gate, the railway gate man is about to close the gate (half closed already) and allowed you to cross the tracks. There are others who are following you, let us say some 100 meters behind you, and they are also trying to cross the tracks but the railway gate man is trying to close..
as you already crossed the railway gate and there are guys 100 meter behind you trying to to cross the gate while the gateman is trying to close the gates, what exactly runs in your mind? Honestly? No need to answer, but what exactly you think? You would be happy, if they also cross the gate?
You would be somewhat happy (savagery) if they were stopped by gateman (as gate closed)? Just a random post to check myself how do I feel about others in some typical situations.
Considering the way that others drive vehicles on the road, the nature of roads, the frequency at which railway gates are closed, all these impact how we think as a human and wish others well being. I was thinking about this, and when I think about this, I remember the test I took 20 years back (TCS psychometric test), I am not sure if they covered this type of testing? Whether an individual is really helpful to others once the guy is in safe zone (in terms of completing tasks/ reaching timelines) at workplace.. But it is really difficult to judge the true nature of the people unless we experience it.
Also, I was talking to one my friend on leadership and I have this thought like leadership (especially helping others to grow) starts after certain age(say 40) not exactly because they are safe and secure in their job position, because after certain age, their perspective towards the world changes and they come into terms with the nature starts working create leaders. I am not sure if I am right or wrong. There could be many books on this subject. But it all depends on who talks the real truth and in this fast moving world and many peta bytes of data, who cares for these things? As long as it works out, it works, if not, let it be and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices takes care of the business operations.
Weird thoughts 🙁
